FAMILY RESOURCE CENTER
Welcome to the Family Resource Center for The Arc of San Francisco. We feel it is so important that we have a positive and supportive relationship with all our families. We strive to provide the best services to your adult children. We need the support of families to continue the work that we do. Support can come in various ways such as volunteering, grassroots advocacy activities like writing letters to Legislators, or financially supporting the services provided by The Arc.
We are available to provide information or to answer questions you may have. Please feel free to contact:

Q: What do I do if I think my child has a developmental disability and am interested with the services of The Arc of San Francisco?
A: The first step is to have your son or daughter become a client of the Golden Gate Regional Center. To do this, call (415) 546-9222 and ask to speak to someone in the intake department. Ask for an application to apply to become a client. You will need to complete the application and provide the regional center any copies of medical reports about your child's disability or information from their school records. The regional center needs substantial documentation in order to make a determination.
It can take up to 120 days to have your application approved. If approved, your son or daughter will be assigned a case manager to help develop a personal plan and recommend services. If services are approved, the regional center will pay for them.
If you need help applying to the Golden Gate Regional Center you can contact The Arc of San Francisco for assistance.
Need a referral or information about who to see about Special Needs Trusts and/or conservatorships? We can provide a list of attorneys who specialize in these areas.
